YOAEO

YOAEO scoring ruleset changelog

YOAEO currently scores with ruleset 1.4.0 (released 2026-09-16): 18 checks in total, 4 SEO, 6 GEO and 8 AEO. The rules are reviewed weekly against official Google, Bing and AI-engine documentation; on every version upgrade all previously scanned sites are re-scored automatically and paying customers are notified of score changes.

When do the rules change?

Every Monday the system compares Google Search Central, Bing Webmaster, OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity crawler documentation and schema.org releases against the current rules and drafts a change proposal; a human reviews it before a new version ships. Additions to the tracked-only crawler list (new AI crawler names) are applied automatically and never affect scores.

Version history

  1. v1.4.0No score impact

Ruleset externalised: weights, thresholds and crawler lists for all 18 rules now live in ruleset.json. Scoring logic and scores are unchanged. Added the public changelog page and automatic re-scans on ruleset upgrades.

  2. v1.3.0Affects AEO scores

AEO deepened from 6 to 8 rules: added answer-first placement (direct answer within the first 3 paragraphs) and content freshness (JSON-LD date markup); FAQ rule now checks answer length and question count; PAA rule checks intent diversity. 16 → 18 checks in total.

  3. v1.2.0Affects GEO scores

Blocking Bingbot now carries its own penalty (the Bing index feeds ChatGPT search and Copilot); DuckDuckBot, YandexBot and Applebot added to the tracked list.

  4. v1.1.0Affects GEO scores

Tracked AI crawlers expanded from 8 to 17; secondary AI crawlers are now scored (penalised only when explicitly blocked); Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended use reverse-default semantics (unmentioned = not allowed).

  5. v1.0.0Affects all scores

Initial release: 16 rules (SEO 4, GEO 6, AEO 6) weighted SEO 30% / GEO 35% / AEO 35%, with noindex and a blocked Googlebot as hard gates.
